ChickTech OC Event Wrap Up

ChickTech OC started the year off setting our intentions and goals for 2018. To address the growing importance of using social media as a business, our chapter decided to host Social Media for Entrepreneurs. In our Social Media for Entrepreneurs event, the Orange County chapter of ChickTech partnered with Girls with Goals OC to host a workshop on how to utilize social media for business. Twenty five women came together to learn the tips and tricks to managing a social presence online, as well as implement tactics to help convert their followers into customers.

Katrina Luu facilitated the Social Media for Entrepreneurs workshop. Katrina is the current Communications and Marketing Director for the Orange County Chapter of ChickTech. In addition to this role, Katrina is the Social Media Coordinator at Control Forever, as well as a freelance graphic designer. Although Ms. Luu’s expertise is within the music and entertainment industry, she has experience helping to manage social media platforms for clients in retail, non-profits, and personal brands. As the current Communications and Marketing director of ChickTech Orange County, she is working hard with her team to connect with the community, as well as grow the chapter. ChickTech OC is still in its first year as a chapter, but has already made an impact in the tech community of Orange County.

During the career workshop, Katrina Luu discussed the fundamentals of building a brand presence online. In her presentations, she also shared some key tips that help to streamline the process of maintaining social properties for a business. Our attendees remained very engaged with the presentation and all contributed to the discussion. The workshop was a massive success. As the business and marketing landscapes change, we are constantly learning to innovate. Both ChickTech OC and Girls with Goals OC are honored to be a resource to our community
